"Water pollution and management" was organized by the Nature Interpretation Cell at Government Women's College

A letter reading competition on "Water pollution and management" was organized by the Nature Interpretation Cell at Government Women's College today. Around 35 students participated in this competition. The competition was inaugurated under the leadership of Dr. Dilbag Singh Jakhar, Principal, Government Women's College, Sonipat. While inaugurating this competition, Shri Dilbag Singh Jakhar while addressing the girl students said that water is precious on earth and it is a resource on which the coming generations have full rights. But it has become very impossible to get clean water. There is 71 percent water on the earth. But only a few percent of the water is drinkable, the remaining water is found in the sea, which is not fit for drinking or any other work due to being salty. Only 1.6 percent of the water found under the earth is drinkable. It is our moral responsibility to provide clean water to the coming generations and we all have to make efforts for this together. This competition was organized by Dr. Sharmila Wednesday. Dr. Naresh Antil, Dr. Rajwanti and Dr. Neelam Saini were in the jury for this competition. First place in this competition B. Kumari Chinu, a first year student, Tannu B in second place. A. First Year and Chelsea Geography Honors First Year students jointly. Kumari Kajal, a first year student of Geography Honors stood third. Dr. Sharmila Badhwar said that the Government of India has run many schemes for water management and has made many provisions to prevent water pollution. But nothing will happen until all of us are aware of this resource. And will not understand its importance.
